First House

The First House

The first house, tanu, means body and refers to our birth. Tanu relates to our appearance, personality, character, conduct and habits. It also indicates the degree of our vitality, strength of body and spiritual evolution in relation to former lives. Most importantly, it reflects our purpose for incarnating in this life. The rising sun denotes the beginning of a new day—in this case, a new life—and offers the promise of things to come.
