Signs (Rashis)

Each of us has the twelve signs in our astrological chart. We will experience the energy of each sign as expressed through the character of the house in which it is located (determined by the rising sign or ascendant). Moreover, the location of the planetary ruler of that sign will indicate how the energy of the sign is being expressed. Also, the energy of the sign is highlighted when it is either sitting with or aspected by a planet, especially its ruler or one of the luminaries—the Sun or Moon, or when the sign is in the ascendant. Comparative Dates of Western and Eastern Sun Signs

Planets in your eastern chart, including the Sun, will often be found in the preceding sign to the one in your western chart. For example, if you were born March 30th, a western astrologer would consider your Sun to be in the sign of Aries while an eastern astrologer would consider your Sun sign to be Pisces.

*: If you are born at the border of these dates, your Sun Sign could be found in the preceding or following sign since the date changes slightly from year to year.
