Sagittarius (Dhanu—Archer)

Sagittarius is the ninth sign of the zodiac relating to dharma (virtue), higher understanding, and truth. Its symbol is the archer pointing his arrow towards the heavens.  The archer’s keyword is “I seek to understand”. This sign rules philosophy, higher education, self-study, and spiritual knowledge. The sign Sagittarius relates to our freedom-loving nature. We like the challenge of wide-open spaces, and breaking free of restraints. Sagittarius is a male, yang, fire sign, implying high energy and the outgoing, active personality of a seeker. It is a mutable sign, reflecting openness, breadth of vision, and the joy of discovery.

Of all the signs, Sagittarius is the most associated with seeking group involvement. Although it implies a love of belonging to a group, the energy of Sagittarius rarely seeks a leadership role that would impinge upon its freedom.
