sundari logoSUNDARI product line is a collection of luxurious, ayurvedic-inspired skin care tailored to the needs of contemporary women. SUNDARI line was created by three women, Ayla Hussain, Cavan Mahony and Christy Turlington, each bringing her own expertise and passion for holistic skin care. Ayurveda, recognized as the oldest medical science in India, is a 5000-year old science advocating a methodology which aims to establish holistic balance. Ayurveda teaches us that the balance of mind, body and soul leads to harmony and lasting beauty.

SUNDARI embodies the principles of this Indian philosophy using only the purest plant extracts and the application of the safest and most effective technology in creating its products and its professional beauty treatments. Using the powerful regenerative properties of plants, herbs, roots, therapeutic essential oils and floral extracts, many of whom come from the Himalayan region, Sundari products provide high efficiency anti-ageing results, smoothness, suppleness and comfort.

All SUNDARI treatments begin with a foot soak and a foot exfoliation. This welcoming ritual contributes to relaxation immediately upon entry into the treatment room. The room temperature is perfect, the lighting is reduced to a minimum, essential oils subtly perfumed the room and a music therapy immerses you in a state of profound well-being. From the beginning to the end of the beauty treatment, you will be relaxed, comforted, and warmed through massage of the marma points, the scent of 100% natural products, the application of hot towels on your skin and the softness and fluidity of techniques application and massage. Your five senses are awakened; you relax and are fully supported by your esthetician. You come out with a brighter skin, refreshed and treated according to your beauty desires and needs.

Whether it is to relax and unwind after a palmistry / astrology consultation, before or after an Abhyanga massage to begin or extend relaxation, combined with a cranio-sacral treatment for an ultimate feeling of serenity or simply when you feel the need to take a moment to take care of yourself, your skin, your body, mind and soul, make an appointment for a SUNDARI treatment.

beautyIn Ayurveda, one emphasizes the inner beauty of which outer beauty is only a reflection. Ayurvedic beauty can be described as mind-body-soul harmony.
The human body is a biological combination of the five elements - Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth. The combination of ether and air forms the Vata dosha, Fire forms the Pitta dosha and water and earth form the Kapha dosha.

These three essential elements, or doshas, are in each and every human being. They are the three vital principles or energy centers that regulate the intelligence of our cells. Vata is related to the principle of movement (brain and nervous system), Pitta is related to the principle of processing (digestion and metabolism) and Kapha is related to the principle of structure (skeleton and bones).

Everyone has a dominant dosha which determine its own psycho-physical constitution. Any imbalance of the doshas can cause more or less serious disorders that can manifest as health problems. Ayurveda helps balance the three energies, according to the constitution or temperament of the person, by harmonizing the body and mind in order to find inner wellness and outer beauty.

Discover your ayurvedic skin type according to your dosha

You are vata type if: The skin is dry or combination, cold, fair complexion, a tendency to premature wrinkles, fine, thin, soft skin with almost invisible pores.  Vata skin ages faster. Hair is fine, soft, somewhat dry and brittle, slow growing. The nails are dry, brittle and often striated.
Here are some ingredients to be used for vata skin:  sesame oil, sweet almond oil and jojoba oil for daily body massage, essential oils of rose, jasmine and ylang-ylang to massage the face morning and evening and to perfume your bath water.

You are pitta type if: The skin is sensitive especially to the sun , it needs protection to maintain its balance, fair complexion, warm, soft, presence of freckles and may be prone to acne. Hair may be oily, thin, supple, shiny, usually fair or copper (red pigmentation), and tend to turn gray prematurely. The nails are delicate and well hydrated.
Here are some ingredients to be used in a pitta skin: coconut oil, sunflower oil or ghee (clarified butter) for daily body massage, essential oils of rose, lavender, sandalwood, lemon or basil to massage the face morning and evening and to perfume your bath water.

You are kapha type if: The skin is rather oily, cold, supple, heavy, elastic, soft, thick, dull, with large pores and a tendency to cystic acne. It is resistant to heat, sun and cold. Hair is very thick, abundant and shiny. The nails are strong and healthy. Here are some ingredients to use for a kapha skin: mustard oil for daily body massage, essential oils of bergamot, myrrh, eucalyptus, sage or mint to massage the face morning and evening and to perfume your bath water.

Ayurvedic beauty rituals:  taking care of yourself and feel beautiful is not superficial

To reveal the inner and outer beauty, Ayurveda uses a lot of massage oils to enhance the skin, repairing and captivating essential oils, honey, cream, spices, plants, flowers, fruit and ghee (clarified butter).

Self-massage: massage your skin with oil (adapted to your dosha - see above) each morning before the shower for a deep absorption of nutrients and specific component of each oil. The 5- minute’s daily massage will provide you with relaxation, softness and suppleness of the skin and seductive power.

Recipe for floral massage oil: Place a handful of lavender, rose or jasmine flowers (depending on your dosha - see above) in a large jar and cover with two cups of massage oil (depending on your dosha - see above) slightly heated. Leave the preparation for a week in a dark, dry place and filter the oil. You can also replace the flowers with a few drops of the corresponding essential oils .

Scented bath: a bath taken in the state of the art has a balancing effect on the doshas, and influence on beauty, wellness and health.
Recipe for gentle milk and honey bath: Mix 2 cups of whole milk with a cup of honey, add a few drops of essential oil for your dosha (see above) Add this mixture to your bath water should be lukewarm. This revitalizing bath enhances skin’s radiance and suppleness. Extend this time of well-being for 30 minutes. To reinforce the benefits of this soothing bath, then enjoy a cup of warm almond milk spiced up with anise and cardamom.
